AGENDA (click to view)

    1. Brief introduction and how I came to work with ETS.
      • Worked at Tektronix, Fluke and Danaher Corporation for many years, a global  fortune 500 company known for their effective use of Lean principles. Uniquely they also perfected the use of Lean in areas like technology, innovation, service, scientific and knowledge worker teams; all based on Toyota Production System concepts.
      • When I retired in 2013, the CIO at HMSA at the time (who I had worked with previously at Danaher) asked me to help with several large improvement efforts over the course of several years revolving around Lean adoption and Continuous Improvement.
      • In 2015 one of the IT leaders at HMSA moved over to the State under Todd Nacapuy and asked me to share with Todd and team what had been happening at HMSA. That, in turn, lead to training engagements with ETS in 2016 and 2017.
      • The details and results of those training engagements are discussed in a Case Study document which is a follow-on to Todd’s brief presentation here last December.
    2. Review the ETS Case Study on Lean adoption (touch on highlights and outcomes) and where to find it at HILean.com.
    3. Review the http://HILean.com Community of Practice web site and talk about the future of Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives in Hawaii.
    4. Questions and Answers.
